2016 Nissan TITAN XD: This stunner is well worth the wait

2016 Nissan TITAN XD wows at the Detroit Auto Show

The highly anticipated 2016 Nissan TITAN XD made its debut at the North American International Auto Show on January 12 and stole the show. Okay, we’re a little biased, but the new TITAN looks fantastic. Nissan took the original TITAN and fully redesigned it, even the engine, to create a unique full-size pickup truck. What Nissan really did was create a new segment in the category. There’s never been a truck that can tow substantial amounts like a heavy-duty truck and has the fuel efficiency of a half-ton, until now.

2016 Nissan TITAN XD specs

When the full lineup is released two body frames, three cab configurations, three powertrain options and five trim levels will be available. The XD is the heaviest of the two body frame options. The 2016 TITAN comes standard with a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine, but the XD has the option of the turbo diesel version delivering 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped the XD Crew Cab can tow up to 12,000 pounds.

When will the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD arrive in dealerships and what will it cost?

Nissan anticipates it will starting arriving to dealerships late in 2015, but there is currently no pricing information. The XD is expected to arrive first and the non-XD will come months afterward.

What features and options will the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD have?

RearView Monitor, Blind Spot Warning, Front and Rear Sonar System, Trailer Light Check system are some of the many features and options available on the TITAN XD including front and rear NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats.

What’s new in the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD?

With all the new features, full redesign and modern look it’s truly the next generation of the Nissan TITAN. Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn described it best at the North American International Auto Show when he said, “With the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD, we weren’t just going for ‘best-in-class.’ Instead, we are offering the ‘Best New Class.’” The 2016 Nissan TITAN is truly just that. It is quiet, fuel efficient, modern, but can tow serious cargo like the competition. It’s carved out a new segment for itself in the category.
