U.S. federal EV tax credit for the Nissan LEAF

Here at Matt Castrucci Nissan, we’re thrilled to announce exciting news for eco-conscious drivers in the Dayton area! The 2024 Nissan LEAF is once again eligible for a federal tax credit, making it an even more attractive option for those looking to switch to an electric vehicle. Can you get a tax credit for buying a Nissan LEAF? Read below for details on the U.S. federal EV tax credit for the Nissan LEAF.

2024 Nissan LEAF tax credit information and eligibility

Previously, the 2024 LEAF wasn’t eligible for the federal EV tax credit due to new battery component requirements outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Now, Nissan has recertified that LEAF models assembled right here in the U.S. at Smyrna, Tennessee, meet the requirements. This means that 2024 LEAF models manufactured in 2024 and sold on or after March 6, 2024, are now eligible for a partial federal tax credit of up to $3,750.

Important to Note: To claim the credit, you must meet the purchase and income qualifications outlined in Internal Revenue Code Section 30D. Be sure to consult with your tax advisor for further details.
