2016 Nissan Maxima safety rating

The 2016 Nissan Maxima was recently recognized for its top performance in crash tests with a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is a major step for the 2016 Nissan Maxima, which only went on sale at Matt Castrucci Nissan a short time ago. Not only is the 2016 Nissan Maxima safety rating good for the Maxima, it also brings peace of mind to potential car shoppers.

Conducting crash tests on new vehicles is a large part of the offerings at the NHTSA. The crash tests conducted on all new vehicles are front, side and rollover tests. The 2016 Nissan Maxima received five stars in all crash tests. This demonstrates that not only are the 2016 Nissan Maxima’s active and inactive safety features powerful, it also shows just how effective those technologies are in the event of a crash.

Standard safety features on the 2016 Nissan Maxima include six airbags, antilock brakes, brake assist, vehicle dynamic control and traction control. For even more safety features, the 2016 Nissan Maxima SL, SR and Platinum models are available with forward-collision alert, blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert systems. The innovative, new Driver Attention Alert is also standard on the 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum. This special technology not only monitors how the vehicle is driving in order to anticipate drowsiness, but also alerts the driver in the event of erratic driving.

This isn’t the only safety information coming for the 2016 Nissan Maxima. Official crash test ratings are expected from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the coming months. While the IIHS and NHTSA are independent and have different crash tests, both are leaders in the space.
