One of the biggest praises the new Titan has received is for its implementation of the Cummins 5.0-liter V-8 Turbo Diesel engine. Delivering massive horsepower and torque, the engine allows the truck to haul unprecedented amounts of additional cargo.
Engine
The heart of the 2016 Nissan Titan XD is the all-new, award-winning Cummins 5.0-liter V-8 Turbo Diesel engine. With a quieter power output that doesn’t compromise strength, the engine has already been named the Texas Auto Writers Association Best Powertrain of 2015.
Horsepower
When equipped with the Cummins 5.0-liter V-8 Turbo Diesel engine, the Titan XD is able to generate 310 horsepower. While offering a heavy-duty performance, this engine also operates more efficiently than many gasoline-operated challengers.
Towing capacity
Tried and tested in the Arizona heat, the 2016 Nissan Titan XD has shown its strength under the hood. While the truck’s exact towing capacity has yet to be determined, early tests show it will be able to handle over six tons of towing without compromising control.
