The Best Museums in Dayton

Here at Matt Castrucci Nissan we try our best to be a full source of information. With that being said, we like to share some of the fun things to do in and around Dayton OH from time to time. The other day we were talking about all of the amazing museums that Dayton has to offer within the city. So we’ve decided to write a blog post that highlights two of the best museums in Dayton. Then maybe you and your friends or family can take a break from the craziness that comes with the summer season and visit one of our excellent museums for an afternoon.

National Museum of the US Air Force: This is the official museum for the US Air Force. It is the oldest and the largest military aviation museum in the world. It is located on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton OH. This museum specializes in telling the rich history and story of the US Air Force through the collection, preservation and interpretation of Air Force artifacts and other memorabilia. They tell the story of the US Air Force by setting up exhibits that engage the audience, through educational outreach programs and other special programs. A few examples of the cool features that this museum has are a digital 3D theater and flight simulator.

America’s Packard Museum – The Citizen’s Motor Car Company: The Packard is an early American car that has a rich history in this country. In 1992 a Dayton attorney and car collector named Bob Signom founded this museum. They actually built the museum in the very first Packard Dealership building that was built in 1917. This has become one of the premier museums in the country. In fact, in 1998, Car Collector Magazine named it as one of the top ten museums to visit in the United States. Then in 2004, the Society of Automotive Historians presented the museum with the coveted James J. Bradley award for its tireless efforts at preserving U.S. motor vehicle history. An honor that has only been given to six other museums. One of the big draws to this museum is the 50 restored Packard automobiles that they have on display in the Art Deco Showroom.

Now that you know a little about some of the great museums in Dayton, we hope that you’ll go and check them out sometime. Also, be sure to remember Matt Castrucci Nissan Dayton OH the next time you are in the market for a different vehicle or repairs.
