One of the things that all of us here at Matt Castrucci Nissan love about the Nissan brand is how progressive and forward thinking of a company that they are. This starts with the vehicles that they produce. They never get complacent and come out with exciting new features and design changes every year that always win awards, and consumer approval. However, it goes much deeper than simply just making a great product. In our opinion, Nissan is a forward thinking brand because of how they portray their great products. Nissan made a big announcement recently that reaffirmed our belief that they do an excellent job with this.

Marketing and advertising play a huge role in the way that a brand is portrayed by the public and the public image that the brand gets attached to. There are far to many auto brands that are making similar advertisements and engage in similar overall marketing strategies.

Nissan realized that they needed to find a way to cut through the clutter and engage in a strategy that was truly unique to them and would present the brand in a way that was consistent with the direction that they are trying to take the company. They accomplished this by making a bold move. They hired Jeremy Tucker as its Chief of U.S. Marketing.

Right about now you are probably asking yourself, who is Jeremy Tucker? Well, he was the former Vice President for Strategic Marketing with Disney Consumer Products. This is extremely important and beneficial to Nissan because he has worked in a vital role of marketing one of the most fun and innovative brands in the world, Disney.

Tucker does not have any previous experience in the automotive industry. However, Nissan is not concerned about that. They have plenty of other experts on their staff already and Tucker wasn’t hired for his automotive expertise anyways.

Nissan hired Tucker to bring fresh ideas to an industry that has a big problem with the “Cookie cutter mentality”. Nissan wants to bring change, innovation and fresh ideas to the table with their marketing and advertising, and they believe that tucker is the right man for the job to get that accomplished.
