How to connect 2016 Nissan Sentra to Siri Eyes Free

One of the newest additions to the Nissan technology arsenal is allowing drivers to stay connected on the road is Siri Eyes Free. We’re sharing how to connect the 2016 Nissan Sentra to Siri Eyes Free to prepare drivers for the vehicle’s arrival in the next couple of months.

What is Siri Eyes Free?

As smartphones became more widespread, so did accidents relating to their use behind the wheel. In order to make the road a safer place without drivers having to compromise their connectivity, Apple created Siri Eyes Free. The system allows drivers to connect their smartphones to the Sentra for access to Siri. There is a steering-wheel mounted button drivers push to engage Siri’s capabilities, which means drivers can send texts, place phone calls, select and play music, read notifications, request directions and create reminders on their phones without having to direct their eyes away from the road ahead.

How to use Siri Eyes Free in a 2016 Nissan Sentra

  1. Connect smartphone to Bluetooth (we offer pairing instructions, here)
  2. Press and hold the talk icon on the steering wheel above the phone icon until you hear indicator sound
  3. Audibly say a command and wait for Siri’s response
  4. After Siri interacts, respond or provide another command
  5. Press phone icon mounted on steering wheel (just below talk icon) to end interaction with Siri

Tips for using Siri Eyes Free

  1. Make sure phone software is updated to the latest version
  2. Make sure Siri is enabled on the smartphone
  3. Minimize background noise and offer clear commands
