Demand for the Nissan Rogue is Growing in the U.S.

Last year Nissan redesigned their popular Rogue compact crossover model, and consumers fell in love with it. Demand for the Nissan Rogue is growing in the U.S. at a steady rate and Nissan has had to find new creative ways to meet the increasing number of orders for the new 2015 model.

The demand for the Rouge has reached a point where they can no longer meet the demand by building soley them in the United States alone. Up until now the Rouge was only produced in Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee plant. However, sales were growing so fast that there were a significant number of dealers who could barely even keep a 30 day supply of them in stock. So now Nissan has officially expanded production of the compact crossover to their Renault Samsung Motors plant in Busan, South Korea.

Nissan will actually be exporting their own vehicles into the United States from this South Korean plant in order to keep up with this crazy demand. They recently ordered the first shipment of 4,000 Rouge vehicles from the South Korean plant in September. They plan to export about 80,000 Rouge vehicles into the U.S. annually.

Nissan has already sold 154,568 Rouges in the United States alone as of September, which is an unbelievable number of units. In fact that is enough to make it one of the best-selling compact SUV’s in the world. It currently ranks as the fifth best selling compact crossover behind: Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Toyota Rav4 and Chevy Equinox.
