New Nissan Sway hatchback concept debuts in Geneva

American release date of Nissan Sway concept

The Sway is Nissan’s latest concept vehicle and made its grand debut at the Geneva International Motor Show on March 3. Nissan has expressed interest in expanding the small hatchback segment in Europe and the Sway concept is built specifically with a European audience in mind.

Nissan already has some presence in the small hatchback segment with its Micra, which is popular in Europe and Canada. In fact, the Sway concept is anticipated to be the next generation of the Micra, which goes on sale next year.

With a floating roof and rear-hinged back doors, the Sway concept makes the future look real slick. One of the most striking features isn’t just the dynamic contours and details, but the large windshield that wraps around the top of the vehicle for a elongated glass roof look. It’s clear the designers and experts at Nissan had a lot of fun with this concept and there are plenty of futuristic details inside and out.

With all its sporty styling and features, we’re hopeful this concept goes into production one day. Unfortunately there is no American release date for the Nissan Sway concept in production form, but that could change. Only time will tell.

Currently Nissan’s small hatchback offering in the United States is the Nissan Versa Note. The Nissan Versa Note is sophisticated, packed with premium technology and entertainment features and is capable of delivering great fuel economy. Here at Matt Castrucci Nissan you’ll find a great selection of Nissan Versa Notes and friendly experts to walk you through all the features and options equipped in each.
