When November rolls around, that means some frigid weather is near. While that’s a bummer, the colder weather brings the wonderful holiday season with it. And with the holiday season come some great family and community festivities. This year, the Dayton Power and Light Company is sponsoring the Dayton Holiday Festival. This annual event has been going on since 1972 and it continues to delight the Dayton people every year. Check out more details about this great event below.

The Grande Tree Illumination
Who doesn’t love the gorgeous sight of a huge Christmas tree besides ol’ Ebenezer? This three-story-tall tree features approximately 50,000 glowing lights and will serve as a symbol of the holiday season throughout the month of December.
Children’s Parade Spectacular in Lights
Immediately following the tree lighting will be the Children’s Parade. This will go along Second, Main, and Fourth Streets and feature floats and displays with more than 100,000 lights. Oh, and don’t forget about the horses, drill teams, and bands!
Live Main Stage Entertainment
There will be a large stage right on the Courthouse Square that will feature live music and entertainment. The entertainment starts at 4:00 and will end right before the tree-lighting ceremony.
