Where to ski near Dayton OH

It can be tough to stay active in the winter, especially when cold temperatures make us shiver as soon as we leave the house. That being said, there are a few fun ways to get some exercise even when there’s snow on the ground. One of our favorite winter activities is skiing, so bundle up, grab your ski gear, and read on to learn about all the closest ski mountains to Dayton OH!

Ski hills near Dayton OH 

Mad River Mountain 

Where: Zanesfield, OH 

Mad River Mountain is Ohio’s largest ski hill and is conveniently located just an hour away from Dayton. The mountain features twenty trails, all of which are currently open. Don’t worry about waiting in long lines for lifts either, with six chairlifts, two handle tows, one rope tow, and three carpet lifts, you’ll be at the top of the mountain ready for another run in no time. 

Snow Trails 

Where: Mansfield, OH 

Snow Trails was Ohio’s first commercial ski hill, and with seventeen runs and seven lifts, the mountain is still a viable option for skiers. The hill is best suited for intermediate skiers, as the vast majority of runs are classified as a blue square. That being said, there are a few black diamonds and green circle runs on the hill, so beginners and experts are welcome as well. 

BostonMills and Brandywine 

Where: Brecksville, OH 

BostonMills and Brandywine ski resorts are located just five minutes apart from each other by car, so if you’re looking for a weekend of fun at various hills, we recommend heading over to Brecksville, OH. The mountains feature eleven runs between the two, and three terrain parks are also available for skiers who enjoy catching a little bit of air.
